Training at Christine Betz Dressage focuses on classical horsemanship. We take the time to build tangible skills in the discipline of choice. We systematically build the horse's comprehension of the aids. Once that is achieved, the horse is empowered with the proper fitness and condition to execute the skills the training has instilled in a systematic way, building confidence, understanding, fitness, and partnership. Using Christine Betz Dressage’s Diagnostic Dressage ® processes, we can minimize stress in the horse in the training process and improve the experience for horse and owner/rider. For horses with established training who are experiencing hurdles in their progress, our Diagnostic Dressage ® is ideal for unearthing the roadblocks in their training to then move the horse along in their training and success.

Instruction:

45-50 minute lessons available on schoolmasters and for hall-in lessons on your own horses. Available for off-site clinics (instruction or freestyle creation). Contact Christine for dates, times, and options. As a trained educator and seasoned instructor, Christine Betz lessons are highly productive. Using her Diagnostic Dressage ® process, Christine is able to unravel the struggles each horse and rider face, making each lesson a wealth of information, highly productive and constructive. Often, riders are concerned about how and why they are not progressing in their partnership with their horse, but in the Diagnostic Dressage ® process, that mystery is unraveled. For the amateur or junior rider, this is especially helpful to demystify the training and riding process. Many of Christine’s students are fellow professional riders.  For the seasoned professional, the Diagnostic Dressage ® process empowers them in their own riding, business, and they find their own training respected and enhanced. A unique aspect of the instruction offerings at Christine Betz Dressage is the access to competitive schoolmasters. Our schoolmasters (horse safe and skilled from training level to Grand Prix) have show quality gaits as well as rideability, most are available for onsite lease. Additionally, we offer the time-honored and infallible system to develop rider seats and skill of lunge lessons are utilized for a safe and effective progress.

I’ve known Christine for 9 years.  She was my trainer’s trainer and would also host quarterly clinics for the rest of us to improve our dressage skills.  When our trainer died of cancer in 2020, my sister and I moved our horses to Chistine’s shortly thereafter, despite her facility being more than 90 miles from my home.  I did this because Christine knows a lot about horses and riders.  She’s skilled in many disciplines, especially classic and western dressage.  More importantly, she’s skilled at, and has an incredible knack for, knowing what both horses and riders are capable of, and what they need to succeed, and progress (if that’ their goal).  Each horse, and each rider, are unique in Christine’s book – you can see it in the way she trains, in the way she interacts.  She adapts to meet the needs of clients and animals.  In the first year I was with Christine she took two of my horses to two National Championship titles in both FEI and Western Dressage and took me to a Reserve National Championship as an Amateur western dressage rider.

Christine’s facilities and staff are also amazing.  When my old girl got laminitis, instead of this being the end of her riding days – or worse, Chrstine got her back to health quickly.  Likewise, for the my sister’s older horse.  She and the staff know just what to do to keep horses healthy and happy.  She’s good with the young and inexperienced ones as well.   Because of her coaching (horse and rider), I’m very comfortable riding a new horse that has less than a year under saddle – and I’m a 66yr old amateur.  We’re both progressing nicely, though I think the horse knows far more than me now, due to Christine’s training!

I would recommend Christine and her facilities to anyone passionate about their horse and their riding – regardless of your or their age or discipline interest.
